The Singapore Innovation & Productivity Conference 2016 held at HDB Toa Payoh Hub Auditorium last 22 September 2016 was a success.  The 300 attendees gained much insights not just from our very own SMF President Mr. Douglas Foo and panel speakers but from our Guest-of-Honour, Ms. Low Yen Ling, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Trade and Industry, Mayor of South West CDC.

As the theme of the conference says “Business Model Innovation:  Innovation-LED Productivity”.  Now a days, business cannot just keep up with the times by thinking of profit and sales but also by how to maintain competitiveness by being “INNOVATIVE”.

One of the key factor in looking into being “INNOVATIVE” is the current Business Model.  Any change in the current business model is very crucial.  An innovative idea to improve productivity can be disruptive to any business. Singapore Manufacturing Federation is a good platform to collaborate with professional licensed consultants.  It is best to get the consultants on board before making any changes in your current business models.

The Singapore Innovation & Productivity Conference 2016 is a good platform to all SME’s who is looking into staying competitive.  The conference will open up your mind and will give you a broader understanding of the current business set-up and the so called future-ready business model. It is not just the products and services but the people that works for you that will help you move forward and keep you in the competitive edge of business.

Dr. Micaela Csik, keynote speaker, co-author of The Business Model Navigator” published by Pearson/Financial Times in 2014, has demonstrated how to become a business innovator yourself.  As Dr. Micaela Csik said, you will see how “Business Model Innovation can really help business and industries boost growth and enable new growth potential.”

The presentation of the panel speakers from both MNCs and SMEs are very inspirational.  Followed by panel discussion. The panel discussion indeed was a very good platform to ask about the existing businesses and be answered by experienced professionals.
